(A Qualified Heart) - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

We all have had in our lifetime incredible offers for credit cards. Offer to attend the best schools, purchase the best car and or offers to the best job. We are always measured by our qualifications and are approved by what we do in life or don’t do. When it comes to the matters of the heart, what do we have to do to have a qualifying heart to be sealed in Christ and spend eternity with Him? Who is approving or monitoring our qualifications? The answer is quite simple really.  We have a Creator that gives us the qualifying standards to enter into an eternal life with him the Bible says “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15 But what does that mean to keep the commandments, if we are sinners and we always come short? Romans 3:23

To top it off, then we have Satan who causes us to believe that we are on the right road and once we fall into sin he then accuses us of willful sinning. That is why Satan is called the accuser of the brethren and the master deceiver. Satan has accused us of willful sinning and because of our sinning we are not eligible to receive God’s grace. His accusations began from day one. Since he has been accusing us after the fall and he will not stop until the day he is destroyed. Satan uses every arsenal in his spiritual realm and weaponry that is unmatched. One of his greatest weapons that Satan tries to use on us to destroy us is really extremely diabolical. So, what does Satan use to try to destroy us?

History-
Let’s journey to the beginning of time, to a land far away called East of Eden found in Genesis 2:15-17. The Lord spoke to Adam and gave him specific instructions And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” So, there we have it, the Lord God our Creator told Adam what Adam is to do. Hence, when Eve was formed, she too was under this command. By this time Lucifer was already roaming the universe and no one to really bother on this earth until humans became dwellers and keepers of the earth. Are you still with me? Here we have in the beginning what God has said to humanity, the conversation was between Creator and Created beings and no one else.

First use of Satan’s diabolical weapon- Using Scripture
Let’s look at the first time Satan used this weapon. We do not know how long it took for Satan to come around and take form of a snake and speak through the snake but, we see Eve in Genesis 3 walking in the garden when she came upon a talking snake. Remember, Adam and Eve communicated with the animals somehow at the beginning of time. In fact, in the Bible we see another animal talking in another story of Balaam’s Donkey found in Numbers 22. Getting back to our story in the beginning of time…the Bible says that Satan also known as the serpent of old began to talk to Eve in chapter 3:1-3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Clearly, we can see Satan quoting the words of our Lord God with distortion, so it is safe to say that Satan knows his Bible to benefit him. In addition, you can see that Eve was informed as well and knew what she was to eat and not eat. Interesting enough is verse 4 in the same chapter “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” Taking a closer look at Adam, we can clearly see in these verses that Adam willfully sinned whereas Eve sinned because she was beguiled. She had sinned nevertheless, but, Adam chose to willfully sin. After both had sinned God had them both partake in the first sacrifice to atone for their sins.

Second attempted use of Satan’s diabolical weapon- Temptation Matthew 4
The same way Satan tried to tempt Christ during Jesus 40 day fast. Satan used the scriptures on Jesus to see if Jesus would fall but Jesus responded with the word and finally on the third try Jesus said  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Matthew 4:10

There you have it, Satan knows his Bible and he uses the Bible against us. Let’s use an example, what if you willfully have a sin problem with (i.e. gambling, adultery, gossiping or hatred due to any abuse) and you wanted to give your life to God but you keep sinning over and over, what Bible verse do you think that Satan could use on us to keep us from being free in Christ is this one…“For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.” Hebrews 10:26

Can you just hear how Satan can use this verse on us to accuse us? Just think for a moment, imagine the person who is trying to change in their own power but cannot because they continue to sin, so if we sin willfully even though we know the truth we have no chance of entering the Kingdom of Heaven. Can you just see how Satan can continue to badger us with this verse time and time again? Basically, Satan is saying, you are a sinner and no matter what you do Christ won’t forgive you. Yes! We are all going to sin for this is biblical…the scriptures say “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23

Satan’s accusation that we cannot be saved is a lie and we must not fall for this lie to enter into our hearts and our minds. That is why we must know our Bible left and right, up and down so that when Satan uses the word against us, we can fight back with the Word as Jesus did during his 40 day of fasting and praying.

No matter what we have done, Jesus is waiting at our hearts door for us to invite him into our lives so that he can empower us with such power that we will be able to do much more than that of the disciples. No matter what sin we have committed, through the Holy Spirit we can be changed and in time we will no longer continue to sin willfully and when we do, Jesus will forgive us as the Bible says “He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” Micah 7:19

Great news!!! A qualified heart became qualified through Christ’s death on the cross. You have been approved! Not saying once saved always saved, but rather because of grace we can go to Christ and ask for forgiveness. When Satan tries to use God’s word against us we have to claim Jesus’s promises that he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness…Jesus says “if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you through your healing process and to get ever closer to Christ. Choose today because Jesus is the only way.
