(HEART PEACE) - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

In a world with a great deal of uncertainties, it is reassuring to know that there is a Creator who desires the best for us. A Creator who wants his loved ones to experience peace through him and not be afraid, however, sometimes we do become afraid due to circumstances beyond our control. When our plans don’t go as expected we have two choices, one, accept it and move on even though it hurts or 2, don’t accept it and remain angry and bitter. There is a great sense of peace when we are walking with the Creator knowing that he makes us strong to handle our issues through his strength and achieve a peace of mind and build our faith.

Sometimes our heart peace is shaken by situations. The world is going through some changes and they are not positive and with that said, we know that we must have faith but how do we achieve faith so that we may have peace in our lives? Well, the world would have us believe that there are many roads to take to attempt to achieve peace but there is One way only that one can obtain peace and that is through our Creator God, the Bible says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 I know it may seem hard to find peace in your situation but hold on to His promises. He will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

Losing Someone or a relationship can be hard. Let’s take a look at an extreme example what the heart may go through in a situation beyond their control. Let's use our imagination for a moment, let's say there is a well-adjusted young man and a young lady, they begin to date and the world is beautiful. The two have never experienced anything like this relationship and they begin to make future plans with each other after a year of courtship. Everyone is excited for the two and they are madly in-love with each other, then one day tragedy happens and the young man dies. Let’s say that the day that he was killed in an automobile accident, he and the love of his life had their first argument and they never reconciled.

What do you think may happen to her heart's peace? This young lady’s heart is broken and in the midst of her pain, her mind starts racing with thoughts that maybe if she hadn’t argued with him, he would not be dead but rather alive and well. Day after day her mind continues to race on and on riddled with guilt. This guilt over takes her peace.

As time goes on and with each day she experiences extreme episodes of sadness but she tries to have faith in her own strength as she tries to think of happy days and for a brief moment she is happy, then she becomes irritable and the then suicidal and this cycle continues because of fear of her unknown future and mainly because of guilt. How would she get her hearts peace again? I am aware that this an extreme story, but things like these have happened and for some situations it can be worse while others are not as extreme. Nevertheless, a traumatic experience can leave us in a great deal of pain, fear, feelings of uncertainties depleting us of our heart peace.

What are we to do?  Seek His peace, have faith in the Creator and don’t let you heart be troubled nor be afraid. I know that it is easier said than done, but with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and your open heart and willingness to be led by the Holy Spirit heart peace can be achieved.

If you find yourself in a place where you are hurting so much that you can’t seem to think straight and you are losing hope, I ask you to hold on. Seek His love and peace. He is waiting for you to let him into your situation, your life and your circumstances so that he may give you peace and remove your fears.

Will you make that choice today?
