(Holy Spirit & Discouragement) - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

Recently, I have been experiencing high levels of discouragement due to (loss of a contract, feeling unloved, neglected, misunderstood, loss, no purpose and feeling disrespected). My purpose in life was questioned and for the first time in over 2 decades I felt useless.  I could not seem to focus in prayer, and felt as if I was falling into a state of darkness. I began to feel afraid that this is it. This will be my life until I die and it was indeed dismal to say the least.

Then, I took a leap of faith and after much prayer, much fasting and seeking the leading of the Holy Ghost it hit me like a brick. Who was I trying to please man or God? I had to take a good look at my life and my heart and realized that my heart was deceiving me and you know what the Bible says about the heart...who can know it Jeremiah 17:9

Well...the only ones who can know the heart is the Holy Spirit, Christ and our Creator. I came to the conclusion that Salvation is individual and sometimes we have to let go of everything including goals, ideas, family, dreams, and loved ones and ask for the right dreams, goal, and ideas that although may seem impossible to achieve can still be achieved through the Holy Spirit. It is then, that one can reach their true potential. We cannot change our family, but through the leading of the Holy Spirit we can view and treat them with a different pair of eyes.

Sometimes loving someone comes down to letting go because they have become a spiritual snare.  When we want others to love us but they don’t show it we end up doing things that God has not ordained all for the sake of earthly love. It is not wrong to desire to be loved but when we sacrifice our spiritual walk with God then it is a sin. When we fear that a man or a woman will leave us, not love us or not accept us, then they become our idols.  This is where some relationships can become a snare, the Bible says “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. “Proverbs 29:25

We need to trust in the Lord that along with the Holy Spirit we will get through our difficult times. Most times it isn't our loved ones at fault that they become hindrances but rather our fault when we have chosen them over our First Love Jesus Christ.  When we realize where we stand in our relationship with Christ, His Spirit and our loved ones we can make the right decision and release those who hinder our walk with our Creator.

It is then that with the leading of the Holy Spirit that we can let go and begin or continue in the healing journey. Once on this path, the Holy Spirit will turn your discouragement into encouragement. What may seem impossible God will make things possible and your purpose in life will reflect the purpose that Christ meant for you. His plans for all of us are good Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes we need to go through an episode of discouragement to show us that the path that we are on may have veered a bit but through the leading of the Holy Spirit and a deep relationship with Christ we will get back on track, the Bible says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5-6

Question: in your healing journey, where do you find yourself being discouraged? Ask the Holy Spirit what is causing your discouragement. If you already know what it is that is discouraging you then ask Him to help you through your journey and empower you to make the right decisions.

Should you desire to read more about the Holy Spirit and want to begin a real personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I invite you to the following webpage where you can find a free PDF book on the Holy Spirit by author Helmut Haubeil in any language Steps To Personal Revival
