Breaking Down Strongholds - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

More great news! Negative strongholds can be broken down, however, not in our own strength. We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that we can be ever so close to our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is our Master Healer and his desire is that we all are free indeed.

Unfortunately, there are many churches that believe that Christ’s church is a hospital instead of a wellness center. The difference in the both is time. In fact, I have heard many pastors say that churches are hospitals but I want you to take a moment and imagine something with me. Let us use your imagination for a moment for good. Imagine that you became ill and you had to stay in the hospital for 1, 5, 10, or even 20 years in a hospital, how much money would you think it would cost you to remain in a hospital at today’s prices? Would you continue to stay or would you finally walk away? I would think that you would walk away because there would be no hope for healing. Could this be a reason that churches are losing church members each week? Maybe it could be one of the main reasons.

So, how come there are so many individual sitting on our church pews each weekend, broken, bitter, in unnecessary pain and with no remedy in sight? Because, we have become Hospice Churches in that some individual will never seem get healed and they die unnecessarily and prematurely. No! This cannot continue. When I hear that someone is going into hospice, I know that that means the inevitable will happen…death. Hospice is the end of the road on this earth but, spiritual strongholds should not be treated as a long-term care process, but through Christ, it should be a short term process. Meaning, when Christ heals us, we become walking and living testimonies for Christ. Unfortunately, it is our strongholds that keep us in spiritual bondage and spiritually sick. Praise God that strongholds can be broken by the Master Healer Christ Jesus. The Bible says For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” 2 Corinthians 10:4

Mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, this is what we need to be free indeed in Christ. The spiritual warfare is great and the enemy is ruthless, he will plant all sorts of strongholds in our lives so that we will not seek Him (Christ) who desires the best for us. Satan strategically places us in places where we will surely die spiritually.

When I was much younger, I attempted several times to leave the church because I was hurt by members of the church (physically, emotionally, sexually and spiritually) and I became sick in spirit. After many years of struggling, I left the church completely. The Hospice Church did not work for me and I paid a huge debt by staying and not receiving the correct care that I needed.

What was my sickness? An unforgiving heart and a strong imagination that became a cancer so great that all I could do is exalt myself into believing that I was greater than Christ because I should not have suffered at all. Although I really did not think this way, my actions clearly stated such. Eventually, I began to die on my own until Christ revived me again.

Don’t waste another time away from Christ, He wants you to heal from your past, he wants to tear down your strongholds and he is waiting for you to surrender everything to him. If you find yourself in a hospice church, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to a church where you will be in a wellness center, where you will be loved, accepted and treated for your wounds, where you will know that the Master Healer is there?
Do you need your strongholds to be broken down? Then go to Christ. He is waiting to tear down your strongholds today!!! Don’t wait another moment. Be free indeed.

Strongholds and Imagination - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

Great News!!! Today, I won the lottery, purchased a yacht, took a trip around the world and came home and this all took place in my imagination. I did not win the lottery and did all the above because it was all in my imagination. Imagination is a great tool to have when escaping life's trials and tribulations but is it a great tool after all?

Many years ago a Christian song came out called "I Can Only Imagine" where the singer describes what it would be like when he meets Jesus. I use this example of an imagination drawn from FAITH in one day seeing our Creator face to face. This song it clearly shows the substance of something hoped for in this case (meeting Jesus) and the evidence not seen yet, but we know the time will come when we will be face to face with Him. Is having faith part of having a great imagination or is it something greater? So, I propose a question. What is FAITH? The Bible says "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

This shows the imagination working for the positive because of faith, however, when we have been hurt or we perceive that we have been hurt whether it is true or not, and our imagination is deceiving us to believe something other than what the Creator has for us then, we are in the spirit of strongholds. When I say in the spirit of strongholds because the demonic spirits cannot force us to have strongholds, but rather, they manipulate us humans to believe in something that has no foundation. It is in this spirit world that then by our thoughts we can be consumed as the father of all stronghold was consumed.

We can honestly say that Lucifer before the fall did not take captive his imagination and look how that worked out for him. Having an imagination that glorifies Christ and brings us into total submission to Him is not wrong. This is not my opinion…we were given imagination for a good reason but we must bring our imagination in subjection to Christ. The Bible states on how we are to treat our imagination Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5

When we are abused, we may have had times where our imagination would protect us and most times cause us to be destructive in our lives. I remember when I would really use my imagination and in my mind I would be killing my abusers. Well, I had no idea that when I was killing in mind I was thinking like Satan trying to kill Christ Jesus throughout his lifespan on earth.

Our imagination can work for us or against us, and this is where Satan creates strongholds on us. When we are abused we go through so many thoughts and processes and this is normal, what Christ wants us to do is to focus on Him no matter what the enemy does to us. In our healing journey we need to know what is it that we focus on the most and how is it affecting our imagination?

Do you have faith that God will heal you and your imagination? Today, what do you think on the most? How can the Holy Spirit help you in casting down your imagination? What are your strongest strongholds? Are they helping you or destroying you?

Where Do Strongholds Come From? - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

So, strongholds are not always negative! Did you know that we need a stronghold that fortified the walls of our minds so that we are not attacked? This is why we need to place the helmet of Salvation. This protects us from Satan’s attack. So, we need strongholds, but then there are strongholds that are destructive and they are from within our hearts and our minds and because of abuse, we have a high propensity to block out our Creator. So, where do strongholds come from?

Would you believe that we can trace where strongholds first began? Well, it is true. As I mentioned on my post “What Are Strongholds?” I made mention that strongholds derive from faulty or in this case defective thinking and focusing on healing from sexual abuse. Well, strongholds began at first not by the results of any type of abuse at all but by a defective thought that infiltrated the heart of the one perceiving the situation. As I mentioned, strongholds for us can be born as a result from different types of abuses.

When a baby is born, he does not have any strongholds but as he or she continues to develop in the lifespan and if abuse exists, she or he is predispose with organic mental issues, or there is an instruction to substance abuse, then these things will alter our perceptions whether they are true or not, these perceptions if are negative then strongholds will begin to develop like a cancer.

So, where did strongholds begin? Strongholds began in the oddest of places. Strongholds began with a perfect being. His name was Lucifer and he was an angel of light. The Bible says of Lucifer “For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” Isaiah 14:12-14

For Lucifer has said in his heart, this is something that means that Lucifer was already thinking defectively about Jesus. You see, Lucifer became jealous of Christ and this caused Lucifer to begin to think faulty, the result then became covetousness, bitterness and hatred. Then, Lucifer began to plan out how he will be over Christ, this shows that his perception of Christ was negative and he could not turn from his wicked ways and proceeded to act upon his own reasoning above the Divine Authority. Negative Strongholds began with Lucifer now known as Satan.

The Divine Authority in Heaven had to cast Lucifer out of Heaven because the father of negative strongholds was contaminating other angels and Light and darkness cannot reign together. The Bible says  And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.Revelation 12:7-9

Since Satan was cast out and came to earth, then he brought his strongholds with him. Since strongholds begin in the mind he tested his new demonic influences to enter Eve’s mind in questioning the Divine Authority. Eve’s sin was not that she ate the fruit, but that she allowed Satan to put doubt on the Divine Authority. Doubt of the Divine Authority caused her to fall Genesis 3. Doubt of God’s authority was one of the first strongholds because she listened to another voice other than her Master Creator. Since, we have been fighting strongholds. Great news! Christ Jesus breaks strongholds. So, what strongholds do you think you have been fighting with that is not allowing you to reach a level of healing in Christ?

What Are Strongholds? - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

Strongholds when broken down can be understood a bit better, for me at least that is what I have come to understand. The word stronghold is made with two distinctive words that are placed together, strong which is about power and strength and hold that is about embracing or bondage. Holding is not a bad word and neither is strong but when you put these two words together then they become a powerful word. What creates a stronghold can be physical and spiritual. For the month of April, we will be discussing spiritual strongholds and our healing process. Strongholds are born from defective thinking derived from deceptive tools from Satan’s master tool box. Satan has been using deception since his post in Heaven as an Angel of Light.

Strongholds are masterfully structured and are Satan’s weapons of destruction for the soul. Strongholds once entered through our thought process and in this area of childhood sexual abuse or other abuses, and then these strongholds will definitely keep us from God, his Saving Grace and keep us from being led by the Holy Spirit. Let’s use an example here: Let’s say that you were sexually abused as a child and the perpetrator made you feel dirty, useless or even guilty but you were taught to love your enemies but you cannot, your little mind might begin to hate the person and hate yourself. Your stronghold may become hatefulness, bitterness, and self-hate. Your suffering, your unresolved issues, your mind and your actions will tax your mind and if your mind is rogue then these strongholds will not allow you to heal. This is where rebellion toward God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will begin to exist and stronghold will reign.

Strongholds blind us to see God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit working in our lives, or experience healing because we cannot see or experience Him at all. Strongholds also rob us of a healthy view of who we really are as the Bible says that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalms 139:14 and that is how Christ sees us when we come to Him.

My question to you today as you continue in your healing journey, what do you think is/are your strongholds?
