Getting To I Do - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

Here in America we have television shows of brides to be and ranging from the dress, to the cake. Weddings are a multi-billion dollar industry that starts with the famous question “will you marry me”. And of course once the “I Will” is said, the real work begins. You have the wedding planners, family and friends helping out the bride to be. This in itself can be most arduous task. In fact, getting to “I DO” is most intriguing and alluring for some women, getting “I DO” is so common that they have said “I DO” more than five times because the woman loved to get married.

It also seems that getting to “I DO” has been the ideal scenario for most little girls since the first time she attended a wedding or seen on any princess movies. The fact that for one day, you are truly a prince and this is so exciting for most. I say most because some females realize too late that their prince is really a toad after the wedding and some enter knowing that the person they are to marry is indeed a toad but feel as if they don’t have another choice. For those young ladies, I want to say I am sorry that this happened to you.

But for the most part, getting to “I DO” is spectacular! When it comes to the Royal Wedding that Christ Jesus has invited us to be at, he made sure that He invited everyone who ever existed on this planet.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet – Matthew 22:1-14

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.  “Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’  “But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.  “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless. “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

You see, the invitation came at a high price…His very own life so that we can be with him. So, how we get to “I DO” for this magnificent Royal Wedding like no other in this world and universe?  Accept Christ into your life. If you have been hurt by someone in the church or “so called” Christian, God knows and he has his just reward for those who have hurt you. Getting to “I DO” is letting go of everything to Christ and he will take care of you.

I like the last verse that says “for many are called but few are chosen”. Have you been chosen? I strongly believe that you have if you are reading this post. God does not work in coincidence but rather through divine appointments.

Getting to “I DO” is not a simple task because you have to let go of a lot, but the rewards are amazing. Choose today and choose wisely so that you get say “I DO” want to be with Christ for eternity.
