Today, my post is a heart 2 heart
post. The matters of the heart can be quite tricky as I have mentioned in my
previous posts. For example, today I woke up with a heavy burden in my heart.
There is so much civil unrest throughout the world the Bible states “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors
of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass,
but the end is not yet.” Matthew 26:4 External
and internal peace seems to elude us day by day. Trials and tribulations seem
to pile on and remedies to alleviate stressors that cause the heart to stir
seems to be ever be so distant from our reach. So, I must remind myself to not
be troubled.
What are we to do in times like these?
My answer is draw near to the Holy Spirit who has been appointed by Christ to
be our Comforter. This is amazing! The comforter’s one of many roles is to be
our Comforter along with leading us into a desire to build a relationship with
our Creator. These two roles are quite significant in that our faith is built
on these two spiritual cores. The first is to comfort us during our trial and
within our trials it is when we seek our Creator the most.
Faith is needed in times like these
where the world seems to be going against its Creator. How we to face what are
lies ahead if we do not have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit or
with Christ. You cannot a relationship without the two for the natural man
because of sin would not seek Christ, the Bible states “Because the carnal mind is
enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can
be.” Romans 8:7
This means that
without the leading of the Holy Spirit we would never come to Christ on our own
account. So, it is safe to say that the Holy Spirit prepares our heart to get
closer to Christ. Our hearts become softened regardless of what we have gone
through in the past or what we are going through today. We were born into a
sinful planet and we will not be exempt from trials and tribulations, but the
great news is that our hearts have a Comforter who is wooing us to get close to
Him so that we can get close to Christ and live free in him and him alone.
Are you willing
and ready for a changed life and have a heart 2 heart with Christ today? Invite
the Holy Spirit into your life and see what amazing things he will do to your
heart.
