January 15 (Survival Through Revival) - Free Indeed - Abundant Living After Abuse

January 15
Have you ever wanted to go to a church to seek comfort only to leave in the same condition that you when in? I have had my share of these types of visit. I have been to churches where one would think they were in a mortuary with lifeless zombie individuals moving around and about living a mere existence.

The body of Christ must be revived…The building does not make the church, the people do. We need each other as a soldier needs another soldier in battle. You will never see the United States Army send one soldier into battle unless for scout. That would be suicide. The battle is not won alone. We must see each other as that we need each other during difficult times. In fact, I need you as much as you need me.

We cannot fight our demons alone. Nor fight the good fight if we are fighting each other or fighting for positions in the church, traditions, economic status and such. The time is now to STOP the madness.

In order to be effective Christians in a defective world we must remember that we fight from victory, not for victory, because our Commander in Chief is Jesus Christ who already won the battle at the cross. Our duty however, is to be an imprint of Who He is so that others desire to be like Him. If we are Christ’s own, we are to be effective in this defective world but we must realize that in Christ we are one body. Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 12: 13-14 (NIV) "For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink."

The body is not made up of one part but of many parts. Everyone has a role to play and everyone comes with some or a lot of baggage. These baggage great or small keep people in a pit of despair. We are baptized by one Spirit into one body, and we must believe this when we do not, we remain in the pit.

How do you know you are in the pit?

  1. If you were or are being abused as a child, and you have not healed from your past, you are in the pit.
  2. If your wife or husband cheated on you and left you broken, and you cannot heal from that, you are in the pit.
  3. If you are living a life of promiscuity and are attempting to leave it and you start believing that you cannot, you are in the pit.
  4. If your mother does not love you, and you cannot forgive her, you are in the pit.
  5. If every time you try to come back to church and someone treats you wrongfully, and you never return, you are in the pit
  6. If someone has spoken bad about someone to you and you feel betrayed that you cannot see straight, you are in the pit.
  7. If the Holy Spirit is working in your heart and your spouse decides to bring up your past and make you feel unworthy, you are in the pit.
  8. If you have an addiction problem, and you are attempting to quit and someone reminds you of how you tried over and over again and have failed, you are in the pit.
  9. If you have made a commitment to walk with the Lord and someone tells you that you are crazy, you are in the pit..
  10. If people tell you that you cannot come back to Christ, yet the Holy Spirit is calling you, He wants to get you out of the pit.
  11. If you keep fighting but feel like you are losing the battle because of what others are saying about you, you are in the pit.
When the body of Christ becomes one and Christ is leading we can begin to help each other get out of the pit. We need a great revival. We can survive these last days of earth's history through Holy Spirit revival. We need the latter rain but it will not come until we are united in Christ. Healing cannot take place in our churches until we are united in one accord.
