Did you know that when we accept Christ into our lives our desire
should be to achieve through Christ a re-born identity in Him? Through the
leading of the Holy Spirit, our lives change in time. It is not an overnight
but through time. Along with internal change (re-born identity) we face other
changes. Often, we are placed between a rock and a hard place, leaving us
confused and burdened at times when we need to make a decision that requires us
to place our beliefs in check but we are not the only ones, scriptures states
of God and Daniel’s choice “But even if he does not, we want you to know,
Your Majesty that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you
have set up.” Daniel 3:18.
Our decision to follow God will in most cases do the same as in
Daniel’s case. Amazingly enough, the world hasn’t changed much from Daniel’s
days and because of this, we will continue to face challenges and tribulations
because of our decisions to follow Christ. The Bible states, “These things I
have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall
have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John
16:33
Choosing Christ is not popular in today’s society and while the
world thinks that Christianity is weak, I must disagree with them. In fact, I
say Christianity is not having a weak disposition; true Christianity led by the
Holy Spirit in our daily lives will create some sort of chaos in someone else’s
life, if they themselves have not experienced a change of their own. Believe it
or not, even some called “believers” who have not had a re-born identity
experience will not agree with the changes that they may see in an individual
with a true re-born identity because they themselves are not being obedient as
they should be. They may even deem you to be a legalistic because you have chosen
to reflect Jesus Christ character in your daily life, what a difficult
predicament to be in if you have had a re-born identity experience and other so
called believers have not.
I have a couple of questions for you the reader…have you ever
asked yourself how can so many believers be deceived into believing that they
are living a righteous life? The answer is quite simple. Satan has some
so called “believers” confused so that they may believe a lie. The lie is that
they are in Christ but they are not really. Some believers think that by just
believing in Christ without repentance is enough, now I ask you, have you ever
stopped to think that (Satan knows Christ personally and he believes in Christ
hence his mission is to destroy all before Christ soon return) now knowing
this, will he go to heaven just because he knows Christ? How about the belief
system that Once saved always saved (nowhere in the Bible states this) so, you
can do anything under the sun and still be saved? This is type of mentality is
dangerous my friend.
How about the cutest yet deceitful thinking of promoting Christ by
wearing of a “WWJD” What would Jesus Do bracelet and such items? (I personally
know individuals who have the most adorable items that say WWJD and still do
the opposite of what Christ would do) will that save them if they are being
disobedient? How about teaching Bible school (yet living a double life) would
that guarantee you a sit at the welcome table in Heaven? No my dear friends,
this type of mentality can and will get you in a whole lot of trouble. We
cannot be straddling the fence, we must choose to reflect Christ or Satan
bottom line. You cannot choose both masters.
Coming to Christ and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior means
that we have a spirit of repentance behind us, in addition we will also have a
spirit of surrender and the desire to keep God’s precepts but without these
three vital factors, we become empty vessels which compromise our Christian
walk.
Christ says let no one deceive you, “Let no one deceive you
with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the
sons of disobedience, Therefore do not be partakers with them,. For you were
once darkness but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for
the fruit for the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) proving
what is acceptable to the Lord.” Ephesians 5: 6-10.
A true re-born identity in Christ is a living-action, a process
that exhibits ALL the fruit of the Spirit. What are to display the fruit of the
spirit? What are the fruit of the spirit? Well, the Words says “But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22,
