Several years ago, I was asked to speak on my experiences in the
occult, as a former practicing occultist, necromancer and Santeria. I agreed. My sermon "The Christian Witch" covered many issues that are invading our
churches, our youth, and our ministries in all denominations in one form or
another. Sadly, some churches have no
clue or some have chosen to disregard the total onslaught that is before them
in regards to generational curses, strongholds and the lack of the Holy Spirit
who can break all demonic influences in the lives of our sisters and brothers. Unfortunately,
this onslaught is entering through the beguilement of parents, teachers and
preachers who are unaware of the spiritual manipulation within the media (e.g.,
shows, both secular and Christian movies, and secular and Christian books
alike) which come under the guise of the name of God.
We are being entertained by a spirit but not that of the Holy
Spirit and it is killing us day by day causing us to be spiritually deficient
in every area of our lives. It has been my observation and experience that many
do not understand what it is to practice witchery, what classifies a witch or be
an occultist. Sadly, their limited understanding stems from lack of knowledge a
knowledge that can be obtained by reading the Bible, deep relationship with the
Holy Spirit and being led by Him. Some individuals
are not even aware that their spiritual battles could stem from their forefathers.
The Bible states the following of the sins of our forefathers “Thou
shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation of them that hate me” Deuteronomy
5:9 and since the Word of the Lord does not lie and He keeps his word, then
maybe what we are experiencing today is a combination of past sins and present
sins. What a spiritual toxic mess indeed this is.
The Bible states “My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that
thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I
will also forget thy children” Hosea 4:6. This
leads me to ask…could it be that this present generation is displaying the
former generation’s lack of knowledge as the Bible states. As we continue your
healing journey through the Holy Spirit, I suggest that you ask the Holy Spirit
to break any strongholds that may get in the way of your healing. Generational
curses caused by our forefather’s sins are something that needs to be broken by
the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot do this on our own.
Today, what spirit is influencing your life? If you
have been fighting time and time again the same strongholds, the same sin problems
and you cannot seem to forgive, or you remain bitter, hateful or in oppression,
then ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you need to grow. I will be talking
more about strongholds sometime in the next couple of weeks.
